Satpol PP Detects 86 PSBB Violations in Jakarta

We still get business places that still commit violations in the field

Jakarta Satpol PP Head Arifin led a sweeping during PSBB in Jakarta simultaneously and managed to find 86 violations, Monday (5/18) at dawn.

Sweeping was done in Tanjung Priok, Kebayoran Baru and Mampang Prapatan areas and his side targeted business places such as restaurants and cafes alongside the street, including restaurants located inside the hotel.

"We still get business places that still commit violations in the field," he expressed.

According to him, sanctions imposed were in the form of sealing and administration with varying nominal fines. The total administrative sanctions imposed in this supervision were Rp 135 million.

He went on to say that the Gubernatorial Regulation number 33/2020 on PSBB in Handling COVID-19 in Jakarta regulates hospitality rules is one of the business sectors that is excluded from conducting activities. Yet, outside of lodging activities, all the facilities in the hotel were prohibited from operating.

"We still find a number of restaurants open, that's why we do sealing including the imposition of fines," he explained.

He added that intensive supervision aimed to ensure that all citizens are obedient and disciplined in running PSBB in order to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in Jakarta.

"PSBB must be obeyed together, implement the rules thus they are free from sanctions," he stated.
